Dog Crate Sizing Guide
There are many different models and sizes of dog cages available and it’s a very important step to pick the one that’s right for your pet. If you get one that’s too small and your dog will be cramped and uncomfortable. If it’s too large on the other hand, then they could end up using one end of the crate to sleep and the other end as a bathroom. Neither of these scenarios is ideal so we are going to give a brief rundown on the different size of crates available.

Small | 24 Inches Long
Small canines need carriers too and luckily there are a lot of great options out there. Anything with dimensions around 24L x 18W x 21H or 24Lx 18W x 19H should do the trick. This size of crate is best for pets around 10-25 pounds and these breeds: Yorkshire Terrier, Boston Terrier, Maltese, Jack Russell Terrier, Tibetan Spaniel, Border Terrier, Miniature Poodle, Miniature Dachshund and many more.
Extra Small (XS)
The final size category is the extra small style of carriers. These ones are anything with dimensions smaller than the small size, so around 18L x 18W. Any animal with a weight of under 10 pounds is a perfect candidate for this size of cage. So breeds like: Chihuahua, Shih Tzu, Papillon, Pomeranian, Jack Russel Terrier, Maltese, Yorkshire Terrier, Boston Terrier and Pugs.
